Schooled Things (2023-)

 <Schooled Things> (2023–) is a collaborative project with children aged nine and eleven. Together, we altered the positions and forms of objects found around the school and documented these changes through photography.

“Would you like to make something you find at school seem alive?”

 With this invitation, we began wandering through different parts of the school. Many of the objects we found had once been used by the children in their everyday learning but had since lost their purpose.

 The children delighted in seeing these familiar objects transformed. For a brief moment, the altered objects made the school feel like a different place. In that moment, the transformation became a meaningful event for us.
